Today my sisters and I had an absolutely amazing time on a boat ride around Sackets Harbor with Captain Mark! From start to finish, the trip was perfect — Captain Mark was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home on the water. He shared fun local history and pointed out sights we never would have noticed on our own. The ride itself was smooth, relaxing, and full of beautiful views. We laughed, learned, and made memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. If you’re visiting Sackets Harbor, I can’t recommend Captain Mark enough — it was truly one of the highlights of our day!
I was out on the water with Captain Mark today. It was a glorious weather day, and I had the luxury of a private tour! Mark is very friendly and knowledgeable. He guided me through the history of the marina, Sackets Harbor and Henderson Bay. The town is also worth a stroll and a refreshment or meal stop. I highly recommend SacHenCruises!
Our family was in town for the marathon this weekend. Captain Mark was great to fit us in for a quick boat tour of Sackets Harbor. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history. It was a great family activity. Our 8 and 10 year olds had fun. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip and would recommend!
I consider myself more than an average fishermen. I fish almost everyday. I don't have a boat up here. So I chose to go out with Mark and it was the best decision I had made. Very knowledgeable, friendly, very much a people person. I have been out with others, that don’t talk, all business. Mark makes your trip exciting and fun. The morning went by too fast. I look forward to the spring and going back out with him again a few times!!
Capt Mark is awesome. Great guy. Very knowledgeable and personable. Went for a Sunset cruise. Got to see many of the local sights and learn much of the history.

Yesterday 8/5/25 my husband and I and our beagle took a private 2hr cruise with Captain Mark on Lake Ontario. We traveled around Sackets Harbor, Henderson Bay, Henderson Harbor and around several islands. It was a beautiful day and the water was perfect. Mark gave the history of the area and you could tell his heart is in this area. He was super knowledgeable about all these places. He tailored our cruise to what we wanted and it was perfect! He even did a special trip to Association Island RV park for us because he knew we were RVers. Mark told us this was the first time he had a dog on the boat which made it even more special. Thank you Mark for an amazing afternoon. We will definitely be back for another cruise when we are back in the area!
We just had the most wonderful experience with Captain Mark with SacHenCruises! We were staying in Henderson Harbor for a long weekend and reached out for a boat ride. Mark was quick to respond and went out of his way to coordinate a pick up for us. He is extremely personable and customized our tour around us and his in-depth knowledge of the area. By the time we were done we had learned so much about the area but more important made a friend that we know we will come back for a day trip or a weekend and make Captain Mark’s tour part of our visit every time!

Our boat ride on Lake Ontario Sackets Harbor was truly unforgettable! Our skipper was an absolute delight - his infectious enthusiasm and charisma made us feel like royalty. He treated us to the most enchanting spots on the lake, sharing fascinating stories about the historic houses that lined the shore. The atmosphere on board was lively and festive, and we loved that he let us take a refreshing dip in the lake. The skipper's knowledge and passion for the area really added to the experience. I was out bass fishing with Captain Mark and caught this 21 inch monster smallmouth bass. We were in Sackets Harbor fishing with Sanko.
Great local experience covering the two harbors and their great history. Great sunsets and very sociable and conversational host. Would cruise again.
Captain Mark Rockwell was awesome! He took my husband and I out on a historical tour of the bay. He grew up here and loves the area so that is the kind of tour you get. He was so kind as to try to give us less rocking and rolling on the boat because I sometimes get seasick. He succeeded! It was like having a friend take you out on their boat.
Looking for a fun thing to do with friends visiting from out-of-town, we found SacHenCruises. Captain Mark explained the cruise was completely flexible, so we opted for a tour around Henderson Harbor. He encouraged us to bring a few drinks and snacks, and even asked our music preference. From Whites Bay to Association Island, then the beautiful homes along the southern shore, our two hour ride was perfect in every way. Highly recommend it; we'll certainly be back.
Capt Mark went above and beyond! Went out of his way to pick me up and bring me back to my campsite. Excellent boat captain!! Knew the surrounding areas and islands very well and all its history. While returning me to my campground, he gave me a tour of Sackets Harbor and battlefields. Would HIGHLY recommend!! Definite 5 Stars to Captain Mark.

If you're looking for a boat cruise in Sackets Harbor I'd recommend this one! The island cruise was great. Captain Mark was very knowledgeable of the area and he made sure we cruised skillfully and safely. His passion for the area shined through. There's a lot to see around the area, we even went past the 1-hour mark and took some extra time exploring the waters and surrounding area. Highly recommend.
Four of us booked a tour with SacHenCruises and we had an epic afternoon!!! Captain Mark could not have been more gracious, accommodating, or informative. He set out an a mission to make us all happy and he exceeded even his own expectations. We flew at top speeds across the bay, we floated in the rolling waves, we anchored in a sheltered spot with our charcuterie, and we swam… all the while learning about the rich local history ranging from the Revolutionary War to present day. If I could give 10 stars I would. This day goes down in the memory books as one of the best ever!
I took this exciting boat ride at Sackets Harbor. It was in July on a gorgeous day. Captain Mark told us everything that we should visit at the lake. It was just beautiful and I would look forward to taking another ride on a sunny day in that boat in Lake Ontario.

Mark was personable, knowledgeable and friendly. His knowledge of the history of Sackets Harbor and the role it played during the War of 1812 is second to none. We plan on making this an annual excursion.
